My name is Anne Ossieur. I was born in Bruges and recently graduated in Biomedical Sciences from Ghent University, with a major in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, running, travelling and spending time with friends.
I recently moved to Antwerp to start a joint PhD at the University of Antwerp, in collaboration with Ghent University. My project focuses on the development of a zebrafish model of SMAD3-dependent thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA) for in vivo drug screening. The aim is to establish and characterise a zebrafish model that can be used to better understand the disease mechanisms and to identify potential therapeutic compounds.
The project is supervised by Prof. Aline Verstraeten and Dr. Dorien Schepers (CONNEX research group), Prof. Bart Loeys (Cardiogenetics group) and Prof. Patrick Sips (Sips Lab, Ghent University).
